Happy New Year! What Will You Achieve in 2024?

HomeLifestyleHappy New Year! What Will You Achieve in 2024?

As 2024 begins, some north Florida residents are embracing resolutions that promise transformations and growth. Meet a diverse group of individuals, each committed to their pursuit of personal milestones in the new year. From starting wellness journeys to mastering new skills, their aspirations paint a colorful canvas of ambition and determination. Whether it’s mindful living, conquering fitness goals or fostering creative endeavors, these locals have made decisions to change some things in their lives.

Howard Lee, Downtown

I moved to Jacksonville last year from Ohio when I retired from my career in commercial real estate. Since then, I’ve been spending time with my two grandsons in Ponte Vedra Beach. My plan is to travel like crazy and use up some of the frequent flyer miles I’ve accumulated over the years. My favorite destination is the Dominican Republic. They have great resorts priced well for my retired lifestyle budget.

Vanessa Boyer, Mandarin

My theme for this year is having the courage to believe for more in 2024. I will have more wisdom, trust, focus and more holy boldness to do those things which used to cause fear for me. I insist that joy, peace, fun and creativity be an essential part of my life. I will focus on more healthy living and make responsible eating, exercise, sleep, and self-care a priority. Financial freedom to have resources for supporting obligations, dreams, and causes; assessing risk wisely and acting judiciously is on the list. I want to grow spiritually and professionally and spend time with people I’m supposed to be with. Keeping and forming good relationships are important to me this year.

Tim Kult, Ortega

My goal for 2024 is to get into the best physical shape of my life. I enjoy working out and I know I can do more to stay fit. My job is important to me and I want to connect with the right new career opportunity that makes me happy. My family is spread out all over the country and I’d like to travel to spend more time with them.

Susan Hartley, St. Augustine

Life is a journey. Let’s live it! I plan to pay careful attention to living in the NOW and enjoy each moment of every day. I am in the 63rd chapter of my life and each chapter gets more and more spicy. Our generation has worked hard, created families, we’ve created businesses and legacies that will live on after we’re gone. “NOW” is my time. It’s your time. Love it and keep living!

Dot Jackson, South Jacksonville

I would like to spend more time outside enjoying the beautiful outdoors this year. I love the fresh air. Walking keeps me in good physical and mental shape. So, I plan to walk happily along some of the local beaches and discover other ones we have here in Florida. When my family and friends come to visit from Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky, one of the things to do on their checklist is to put their toes in the sand.
